Graduated from Mu’tah University (Jordan) with a Frist Honours Degree in law in 1996. Having received his LLM degree at the Law School, University of Jordan in February 1999, he worked as a Full-time lecturer of Criminal law and Criminal procedure for one year. He obtained his PhD degree in Criminal Law in March 2004 from School of Law/ University of Aberdeen in the United kingdom. In Febtuary 2004, he joined the Faculty of Law, University of Jordan as assistant Professor. In July 2011, he was promoted to the rank of AssociateProfessor. At the University of Jordan, Dr. Sami worked as a dean assistant for student affairs from 17/9/2004-17/9/2005, and as a head of the public law department from 17/9/2005-18/9/2006.
In addition to his work as an associate professor, Dr. Al-Rawashdeh was worked as a part-time Legal Consultant at the Legislation and Opinion Bureau: the Jordan Prime Ministry for one year, and Legal Consultant for the Arab Women’s Legal Network. He is a member in the Jordanian Bar Association since 2007.
Dr. Sami was appointed as a legal expert in the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, Ministry of Justice, the State of Qatar for one year in 27/2/2012. In the Spring of 2013, Dr Sami joined the College of Law, Qatar University as an associate professor of criminal law where he teaches criminal law courses for both graduate and undergraduate students. His main area of research is Criminal Law, Human Rights, International Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure Law.
He has published peer-reviewed articles on criminal law and criminal procedure law in both languages: Arabic and English, and most recently a co-authored book on the Qatari Penal Code: Crimes against Persons.
