Abstract:

The main idea of this research is to clarify the ruling on using artificial intelligence to generate and modify images. The importance of this research lies in the fact that artificial intelligence has entered many aspects of life, to the point that it has become used in various fields. Its uses in photography have become widespread among Muslims, which requires clarifying its ruling in general and in detail. The research problem that the study tried to answer is: clarifying how photography is achieved by means of artificial intelligence? To what extent is this compatible with Islamic law? Artificial intelligence is also used in image editing. What is the ruling on this?
The research aims to clarify the ruling on using artificial intelligence in the field of photography, and then to rationalize and govern AI so that its use in general, and in the field of photography in particular, is consistent with Islamic law. This will help advance humanity to a level approaching legislative perfection in the face of contemporary developments. The research method adopted by the study is a combination of description, induction and analysis. The descriptive method was used to explain the methods of photography by means of artificial intelligence. This description was done after the induction of studies that deal with artificial intelligence. The inductive method was also used to research the legal texts and jurisprudential opinions related to the subject of the study. The analytical method: was also used through analyzing those legal texts and jurisprudential sayings, and through comparing this to reality, then attempting to arrive at a jurisprudential opinion based on a religious text related to the subject under study. Among the most prominent results reached by the study was the permissibility of using artificial intelligence to generate an image that does not exist, provided that such generation is for a legitimate purpose. However, generating an image of His Eminence Al Mustafa (The Chosen one), peace and blessings be upon him, or other prophets or religious figures of sanctity, is one of the greatest major sins.
Keywords: artificial intelligence, imaging, jurisprudence, legal evidence, and authentication.
