First: Rights of the Researcher

  • The Editor-in-Chief must notify the author of the research about the acceptability or rejection of the research for publication within 15 working days from the date of receiving the reviewers’ feedback, based on their evaluation.
  • The researcher is permitted to republish their article in a personal book after a period of three years from its publication in the journal, provided they obtain permission from the journal’s administration and cite the journal as the original source.
  • The researcher may present their article, which has been submitted for publication in the Kuwait International Law School Journal, to a conference or seminar before it is published in the journal, provided it is not published in the conference or seminar proceedings.
  • The researcher may publish a summary of their article, which has been accepted for publication in the Kuwait International Law School Journal, in daily or weekly newspapers, websites, conferences, or seminars, provided they acknowledge that the article has been accepted for publication in the journal.
  • The researcher is permitted to submit their article, already submitted to the journal, for consideration for an award, provided the awarding institution does not republish the article without prior written consent from the journal. The article must acknowledge its publication in the journal, including publication details.
  • The researcher may submit a study or article prepared for other entities to the journal, provided it has not been previously published through recognized publication channels.

Second: Rights of the Journal

  • The editorial board has the right to conduct a preliminary review of the article to assess its suitability for peer review. Once the reviewers’ reports are received, their opinions are binding on the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board.
  • The Editor-in-Chief must notify the author of the rejection of their article, upon request, and provide the reviewers’ feedback without disclosing their identities. The journal is under no obligation to respond to the author’s comments on the feedback.
  • If the researcher delays making the required revisions to their article for a period exceeding three months from the date of receiving the journal’s feedback, it will be considered a withdrawal by the researcher unless a compelling excuse, accepted by the editorial board, is provided.
  • The article may not be published in another academic journal once the researcher has been notified of its acceptance for publication in the journal.
  • The researcher may not submit an article to the journal if it has already been published, either in print or electronically, in another academic journal, conference proceedings, or any other platform. Violation of this commitment will result in a two-year suspension of the researcher’s submissions to the journal.
  • A researcher whose article is rejected based on the reviewers’ opinions is not permitted to resubmit the same article, even if all suggested revisions have been made.
  • The journal reserves the right to republish articles it has previously published, whether in print or electronically. The journal also has the right to permit third parties to include its articles in various databases or information systems.
