Problematic in the Specializations of the Security Council in the field of Human Rights Protection

Abstract
The present study aims to examine the recent developments that have taken place on the powers of the Security Council in maintaining international peace and security. It sheds light to the analysis of oppressive mechanisms developed by the Council in order to apply the system of collective security contained in Chapter VII of the Charter, especially after the end of the Cold War. The Security Council, in the context of the implementation of the rules of international humanitarian law, increasingly uses the provisions of Chapter VII to sanction states, since a violation of human rights law generates serious implications for international peace and security.
